Pete rode from Butte City to Idaho Falls.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>After Pete stopped in Idaho Falls to meet Erin (his girlfiriend) at the airport, Pearson continued on towards St. Anthony, Idaho.<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Since he was facing a head wind Pearson decided to try <em>The Personal Air Transference System (The PAT).<span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/em><span>Inspired by an idea from Pat Sheridan he attached at a golf club to the front of his bike (in order to split the wind around him) and increased his speed by 2.5mph.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>His ride ended just as the sun dipped below the horizon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_60\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-60\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-60\" title=\"The PAT\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.longbikeback.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/thepatm-300x265.jpg\" alt=\"Pearson using The PAT (Photo by Meghan Sheridan)\" width=\"300\" height=\"265\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-60\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pearson using The PAT (Photo by Meghan Sheridan)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Wind on the Moon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><!--StartFragment--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">On Thursday Aug 21<sup>st<\/sup> P&amp;P rode with 25mph+ tail winds to Butte City, Idaho passing through Craters of the Moon.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>We all walked to the top of a hill at Craters where winds toped more than 50 mph- it was like being in a wind tunnel at the top of the world.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_58\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-58\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-58\" title=\"Top of Craters of the Moon \" src=\"https:\/\/blog.longbikeback.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/moonwindpm-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"Pearson at the top of Craters of the Moon in windy Idaho (Photo by Meghan Sheridan)\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-58\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pearson at the top of Craters of the Moon in windy Idaho (Photo by Meghan Sheridan)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Pearson suffered 2 flat tires on his on Raleigh Bike.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Tired of changing tubes he cracked out his mountain bike, only for it to go flat as he approached Butte City.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_57\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-57\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-57\" title=\"Pearson's Flat\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.longbikeback.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/pearsonflat3againj-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"Pearson fixes yet another flat tire\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-57\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pearson fixes yet another flat tire<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Beauty, Ease &amp;
